Garden watering firm "surprised" by story published in The Telegraph claiming it is up for sale for £200m.
A spokesperson for Hozelock refuted claims made by The Telegraph that the firm's owners, private equity group CVC Partners, had put the gardening brand up for sale.
Speaking to DIY Week the Hozelock representative said the company was surprised by the story and didn't know where it came from. He explained that the firm is "concentrating all its efforts on growing the business" and that it had "no immediate plans".
The spokesperson added: "Look outside - it's hotter than Greece today! All we're focused on is getting our customers orders out."
The Telegraph reported yesterday that Hozelock chairman Simon Laffin had consulted with a number of banks about a sales process, which was expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
