HTA promotes National Tree Week

Published: 28 November 2019 - John King

As part of this week’s National Tree Week activities (23 November – 1 December), the HTA has partnered with The Tree Council and the Daily Mail newspaper to use the National Garden Gift Voucher scheme to encourage tree sales through HTA member businesses. National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, marking the start of the winter tree planting season.

The campaign encourages people to be a #TreeChampion this #NationalTreeWeek by planting more trees and caring for the ones that we already have, to ensure a green, tree-filled future.

HTA president Boyd Douglas-Davies, added: “We all know the benefits of planting more trees – in the garden and the wider landscape. They have such an important role to play in helping to mitigate the impact of climate change, enhancing communities and providing homes for wildlife.

"We can help encourage tree sales through garden centres by providing the nation’s gardeners with the best advice on the types of trees suitable for their outdoor space. For tomorrow, plant today.”
