Ikea execs sacked over bribery allegations

Swedish retailer Ikea has dismissed two executives from its Russian operations after they were allegedly complicit in bribing a local supplier.
Ikea general director for Russia Per Kaufmann and another senior director are understood to have parted company with the retail chain on Friday last week. The allegations are that they turned a blind eye to bribes given by a subcontractor in order to supply a power supply problem at Ikea's Mega shopping mall in St Petersburg.
Neither director is thought to have gained personally from the transaction.
