Packaging manufacturer Impress has purchased the assets of Service Tool International (STI), which has decided to enter into liquidation.
Impress has had a close working relationship with STI, which designs and manufactures conversion presses for easy open ends (EOEs) and components for metal packaging.
It will continue to purchase the major part of its equipment needs from third party suppliers but will control the conception and design of its industry leading proprietary EOEs. The purchase from STI includes intellectual property rights.
Impress ceo Francis Labbé said: "This is another step in our mission to build on the advantages of metal packaging. Metal packaging already has outstanding recycling rates and a proven track record of developing high quality, modern consumer packaging."
