An electrical shop called The Tube Station, which has featured a similar logo to the London Underground for the last six years, has been ordered by Transport for London to change its branding, despite being located in Blackpool, more than 250 miles from London.
Owner of The Tube Station Rick Footman recently received a letter from TfL demanding he change his shop's use of the TfL "roundel" logo. The letter explained that the roundel was a registered trade mark and "should not be used without the permission of TfL."
Speaking to the Mail Online, Mr Footman said: "At first I thought it must be a prank, but when I read it and saw all the documents attached I realised it wasn't. I do feel hard done by, but if I'm wrong, I'm wrong - it's not as if I'm selling tickets to travel to Fleetwood on the tram."
Mr Footman has since revealed a new logo for the shop on the business' Facebook page, with a notice to customers stating "A new shop logo will be in place soon, no other changes need to take place [and it] should only take a day once the sign company appear."
