Published: 12 May 2015
Irish DIY retail chain Woodie's enjoyed modest revenue growth in the first four months of this year, parent Grafton Group revealed today.
Irish chain Woodie's sees modest growth
The company said its DIY business in Ireland had benefited as the recovery in the wider economy started to trickle back into the retail sector.

The management is continuing to implement operational changes and refocus the business on Woodie's core strengths of DIY, home and garden.

Woodie's, with 37 stores, makes up most of Grafton Group's retailing division, which itself delivers just 6% of group revenue.

Overall, group revenue for the four months increased by 6.7% to £698m and by 9.6% in constant currency. Like-for-like revenue continued to increase moderately in the UK merchanting business, but the strong momentum in growth in Irish merchanting that started in the second quarter of 2014 continued into 2015.
