Essex-based company aims to raise £10,000 for heart disease charity
Ironmongery Direct goes the distance
Seven employees from Ironmongery Direct in Essex will run the Flora London Marathon this year in support of H.E.A.R.T UK.

One of the runners, Ben Green, has vowed to raise £10,000 for the charity, which is committed to fight against heart disease.

As a child, Mr Green had a major heart operation to repair a valve and four holes in his heart, and sees the race on April 13 as his way to say thank you to the profession that saved his life.

Other entrants include executive director Chris Bass (43), Glen Cattermole (43), Paul White (29), Chris Clayton (31), Marc Steel (24) and Alex Smith (31).
