Ironmongery Direct opens new premises

Ironmongery Direct officially opened its new purpose-built headquarters in Basildon, Essex yesterday.
The company invited suppliers and local dignitaries to see founder Reg Bass open the 50,000sq ft premises with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
The new building at Scimitar Park and brand new management systems represent an investment of more than £2.5m at the company.
Managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: "The move will enable us to accommodate thousands of new product lines and up to three times the current level of staffing, giving us room to keep up the momentum of our fast-growing business growth to date."
Ironmongery Direct saw a 25% increase in turnover to £12.5m last year, and has ambitious plans to reach £50m turnover in four years' time.
