Ironmongery Direct has announced a 25% increase in turnover to £7.1m for the first half of 2011.
The company also saw gross profit jump 62% to £665,000, compared with £410,000 in 2010, while operating profit went up 40% to £750,000.
Online turnover also grew considerably, up 48% on the same period last year.
Managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: "This is a fantastic achievement and one which the whole company should be proud of. There is no doubt that this has been a tough time for the building industry, but offering customers expertise, fast service and a huge product choice has helped to answer demand and ensured customers continue to call on us for the next project."
The company has ambitious plans to reach a turnover of £50m in four years' time. As part of this strategy it has invested more than £1m in its operations and is soon moving to new premises, with capacity expected to be double that of its current footprint.
Ironmongery Direct says the move will give it scope for a considerable increase in product lines, from 11,500 to 20,000.
Mr Lysaght-Mason added: "We still have a lot of work to do to reach our target and the remainder of the year will be difficult for the industry, but we are confident in our performance to date and strategy implemented which puts us in a strong position for future growth."
