Irwin Industrial Tools has outlined its most ambitious and innovative campaign to date for its Jack 880 universal triple ground handsaw.
The aim is to reach an even wider audience and Irwin has invested in a national radio campaign, a detailed trade press advertising campaign, on-pack promotions, direct mailers, new POS material and special offers for merchants.
Irwin unveiled a new version of the saw in May 2008, which offered a 25% increase in cutting speed compared with the previous Jack 880 saw. The company says that the new Jack 880 was an instant hit and the new promotional activities will build on that success.
The radio campaign will be broadcast on Talksport and starts on Monday 4th May. It will run for four weeks, reaching almost three million listeners and featuring more than 250 spots, mainly during key 'drivetime' slots.
All advertising will also be used to support the on-pack promotion, which starts on 1st May and offers more than 50,000 prizes for end users. Customers have a one in four chance of winning from a selection of prizes including a 40 inch plasma tv, £1000 worth of Irwin tools, a year's supply of Jack 880 saws, a free Jack 880 saw, bi-metal blades, Sharpie marker pens and t-shirts.
The on-pack promotion is also backed by POS materials including dump bin header cards, saw tower header cards, saw house header cards and posters.
