Tool company announces it will compete again in 2008 with a two car team.
After a successful debut season in 2007, which saw Team Irwin Racing finish fourth in its first competitive year in the championship, the team will be back for the 2008 season, which begins with a special two race weekend on April 5 and 6 in Bahrain.
Returning for the team in the No.26 car will be Belgian driver David Saelens, who last year finished sixth in the overall driver's championship.
He will be joined in the No.27 car by champion Dutch driver Patrick Huisman, who, with four championship titles in four successive years, 24 victories and 20 pole positions, is the most successful driver in the history of the Supercup.
David Saelens said: "Last year was a learning year for us, because it was the first season in the Supercup for Team Irwin. We improved over the course of the season and brought in some good results, but this year I'd like to reap the fruits of last year's work and fight for the title right away from the first race."
