Managing director believes the garden centre's customers will benefit under new ownership
Commenting on Wyevale's acquisition of Sanders Garden World, the centre's managing director Peter Burks said that he is very pleased with the outcome.
The takeover of Sanders, which came into effect this week, means that the original four shareholders Kerry and Michelle Michael, and Chris and Mike Sanders will no longer be involved in the company.
Instead, the award-winning business at Brent Knoll will become the 116th centre in the Wyevale chain and will be known as a Wyevale 'garden centre of excellence'.
There will be no change to the management team resposible for the daily running of Sanders, including Mr Burks.
He said of the sale: "This is a good move for Sanders Garden World as it will mean we can enhance both our visual appearance and retail offering, which will benefit our customers tremendously."
Mr Burks added: "We also have the opportunity to become a flagship store for the Wyevale family both regionally and nationally.
"I would like to assure all of our customers that it's business as usual."
