JML buys two shopping channels from Sky

JML has purchased two television shopping channels from Sky’s electronic programming guide (EPG).
The deal means that it has five tv shopping channels - more than rival QVC.
"It puts us at the forefront of the television shopping genre, and is part of our strategy to increase direct-to-consumer sales," JML said in a statement.
The quintet of channels will be branded as JML on Sky Channel 631, JML Lifestyle on 632, JML Choice on 652, JML Ideas on 656 and JML Solutions on 657.
JML launched two channels (631 and 632) on May 28, 2007.
John Mills, chairman of JML said: "This is a significant addition to our portfolio, which includes retail, catalogue and our hugely successful website.
Ken Daly, JML's managing director said: "Sales of JML products have doubled since 2004; in fact JML products have appeared in almost fifty per cent of British households.
"Purchasing these channels sends a clear signal about our intentions in television shopping: we want them to replicate the astounding success we've achieved in retail in 2007. We are primed for even further growth in 2008."
