Helen Weir, who has enjoyed previous positions at B&Q and Kingfisher plc, has been appointed as the John Lewis Partnership's new group finance director.
Ms Weir will join the group on April 1, taking over from retiring employee Marisa Cassoni. She will officially take the reins on June 1.
Ms Weir is no stranger to top roles in retail finance; between 1995-2000 she worked as finance director at B&Q before spending a further four years as group finance director of the DIY store's parent company Kingfisher plc.
Most recently Ms Weir was the chief executive of the retail division at Lloyds Banking Group, and before that was the group finance director. She has also previously held a number of non-executive directorships, including Royal Mail holdings and the City of London Investment Trust, and is currently a non-executive director of SAB Miller.
John Lewis Partnership chairman Charlie Mayfield said: "I'm delighted to welcome Helen to the partnership as our group finance director. Helen brings a wealth of both finance and retail experience and expertise and will be a great successor to Marisa, who has made an enormous contribution to the partnership over the last six years."
Helen Weir said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be joining the partnership at this stage in is development. It is a superb business with great brands and fantastic people."
