John Lewis at home opens in Swindon today
Published: 28 October 2010
Department store chain continues roll out of at home format with 40,000sq ft outlet on Mannington Retail Park.
Successfully trialled in stores in
Croydon and
Poole, John Lewis' 'at home' format, focuses exclusively on furniture, furnishing accessories, homeware, electronics and home technology.
The Swindon shop will further extend the retailer's reach and will include the popular Click and Collect service, providing customers with access to the wider John Lewis assortment for delivery to their nearest store.
John Lewis head of format development Tim Harrison said: "We are thrilled to be opening in Swindon today. The assortment is varied and extensive enough to furnish every room in the house and, like our full line department stores, John Lewis at home offers a differentiated service, inspiring products and great value.
"In the lead up to the busy Christmas period, we are confident that John Lewis at home will serve our customers well by giving them convenient access to John Lewis products. The Click and Collect service also means shoppers can easily access items we don't sell in our 'at home' format such as fashion, fragrance, beauty and toys."
John Lewis is set to open the fourth of its at home stores in Tunbridge Wells early next month and has already pinpointed at least 30 locations across the UK which could support an 'at home' outlet.
