Department store chain launches new advertorial campaign highlighting its position as first European retailer to offer an own-brand range of large electrical appliances that is A-rated or above.
"Although we will still be selling B-branded appliances, it's a significant move to sell purely A-rated own-brand appliances", explained John Lewis buying administrator for large electrical Nick Underwood. "No other retailer in Europe does this."
The retailer's own-brand range of large electrical appliances includes a chest freezer, priced at £189, a condenser sensor tumble dryer at £599 and slim depth washing machine. According to John Lewis, the entire range is A-rated or above for energy efficiency.
The editorial campaign will run across eight consumer home and lifestyle magazines.
John Lewis enjoyed a 5.9% uplift in sales of electricals and home technology last week. Sales of outdoor furniture and gardening ranges also performed well, boosted by the warmer weather, while home saw a 6.5% decline for the week ended March 26, with footfall.
