Builders merchant opens brand new outlet in its 140th year of trading, following a £1.5m investment.
North East builders merchant JT Dove has opened the new depot at Portrack Interchange Business Park in Stockton.
The 1.6 acre site features a 15,000 sq ft warehouse and forms part of the business' expansion plans for the North East region.
Martin Jakolins has been appointed general manager of the depot. He has been with the company for 22 years - joining when he was just 16 years old - and three years ago took up the role of manager at the old Stockton site.
Mr Jakolins said of the new development: "The Stockton branch, which is one off ten outlets in the North East, has been purpose built to meet all the requirements of a successful builder's merchants and is part of a three year-long plan to ensure that JT Dove can fully concentrate on the needs of our retail and trade customers alike,
He added: "We are now situated in a newly developed business park, which offers easy access and a busy trade and retail environment. The new depot has been brilliantly laid out and with the infrastructure already in place, we will shortly be branching out into new divisions of the building industry, such as plumbing, heating and landscaping.
The company is already planning to install a bathroom showroom into the Stockton depot and JT Dove managing director Steve Robinson said the new investment is being driven by the business' "ambitious growth targets".
