Sigma Kalon has expressed its delight at the offer tendered for the company, saying it is 'extremely happy with this exciting opportunity'.
A spokesperson for the Dutch company told diyweek.net it is proud to be able to contribute to PPG's 'business, values, people and their successes, towards the creation and the subsequent development of, what would be the largest coatings company in the world'.

No further comment was forthcoming from Sigma Kalon other than to say it is currently looking to discuss the proposed acquisition with employee representative bodies.

If PPG's offer is accepted, a binding share purchasing agreement will be signed and the various regulatory approvals sought.
