Following Kingfisher's successful move into Romania, the company is now trialling the Brico Dépôt store concept in Portugal.
Last year Kingfisher
acquired 15 Bricostore's in Romania and in March this year
two of those stores were converted in Brico Dépôts.
The store opened last week in Lisbon and is a further example of Kingfisher's expansion into Europe.
Kingfisher, Europe's leading home improvement retailer, already owns 109 Brico Dépôt stores in France and 27 in Spain.
Last week, Kingfisher, which also owns B&Q and Screwfix, reported that Brico Dépôt had grown its total sales by 4% to £484m, with like-for-like sales growing by 1.2% during Q1.
