Kingfisher's Polish arm continuing to expand
Published: 29 January 2009
Kingfisher, owner of B&Q, are planning to double its business in Poland over the next five years as waves of Poles head back to the country.
Many have left the UK following the downturn in the economy that has seen the construction and housing market grind to a halt.
The super firm now plans to have 100 Castorama stores and Brico-Depot outlets across the country.
The firm is currently making inroads into the Polish market and its Warsaw outlet, one of 48 currently operating in the country, is the most successful.
Kingfisher believes the trained work force returning home will fuel a DIY boom in the country.
