Kirstie Allsopp and George Clarke join the ranks at B&Q

TV home stars are the latest celebrities to become ambassadors for B&Q, hot on the heels of Alan Titchmarsh's partnership renewal with the DIY and gardening chain.
The duo form part of B&Q's campaign to make DIY and home improvement easier and joined ceo Euan Sutherland in B&Q's Wandsworth store today to launch the partnership.
Mrs Allsopp, star of Channel 4's Location, Location, Location, Relocation Relocation and Kirstie's Homemade Home, will be providing regular tips and advice through in-store appearances, communication materials and on the retailer's website diy.com.
B&Q hopes Mrs Allsopp, a property guru with a background in interior design, will help give customers more confidence to redecorate their homes. She said of the partnership: "Reuse, recycle, redecorate! We can all have a go. If I can retile a bathroom then anyone can, and that's the great thing about my B&Q partnership - inspiring and exciting everyone; boys and girls, kids and Grannies, to have a go at doing it for themselves."
Mr Clarke, a qualified architect, known for his role in Channel 4's The Home Show and Restoration Man, has been brought on board to help advise customers on how to maximise space.
He said: "B&Q is uniquely placed to help advise the nation on how to improve their homes and I'm delighted to be working with them. Helping customers make every single square inch of space work for them and turning their spaces in to efficient wonderful homes is something I feel passionate about."
The two new ambassadors join British gardening icon Alan Titchmarsh, who is already working with the retailer to promote its gardening ranges.
B&Q and Kingfisher UK ceo Euan Sutherland said: "We are on a mission to make home improvement easier and provide all the help we can to individuals and families who want to have a go at doing it themselves. Kirstie and George are true experts in their field and are great ambassadors for home improvement giving customers the confidence and inspiration they need to have a go for themselves."
As part of its 'making it easier' campaign, B&Q is providing customers with 'how to' guides online, project advisors offering a personal shopping service in larger stores, and even 'You Can Do It' classes in selected stores.
