Published: 29 January 2013
Poppyfield Garden Centre in Snettisham, Norfolk, fell victim to fish thieves last week - 46 valuable koi carp were snatched from a covered pond.

A sheet was forcibly removed from the pond at the Poppyfields Drive store and the fish were transported into a waiting vehicle between 5pm on January 24 and 8.10am on January 25.

31 of the fish weighed up to 20lb, while the rest were smaller, according to police. The garden centre's fence was damaged in the raid.

Officers believe the theft was carried out by more than two people, and said it was unlikely the fish had been damaged. They are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who might have been offered the fish for sale to contact PC Lammas on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0900 555 111.
