Lakeland heads up BHETA forum in November
Published: 18 October 2018 - Fiona Garcia
Lakeland buying and merchandising director Samm Swain tops the bill at BHETA’s networking forum next month, with presentations from GFK and BIRA.
The event on November 1 will see Samm Swain present her views on the current market, latest consumer trends and also outline the future strategic direction and focus of the Lakeland team over the coming months. Ms Swain will also highlight the opportunities for suppliers and how best they can benefit from developing their trading relationships with Lakeland.
Also on the agenda is GFK UK retail lead Kelly Whitwick who will share relevant market data utilising the latest EPOS sales data from major UK retailers. The focus will be on the housewares and small electrical sectors and her presentation will also encompass the latest consumer trends and shopping habits.
Meanwhile, BIRA commercial director Jeff Moody will provide BHETA members with an overview on the association, including a profile of its retail members. He will also outline opportunities for suppliers via BIRA direct and expand on collaborative initiatives with BHETA, such as the bonus gift voucher launched at Exclusively this year.
Also on the programme, is Loadie chief executive, Chris Johnson who will give a rundown of the business, an online and mobile logistics marketplace, which connects delivery drivers with distribution centres, warehouses and fulfilment centres. Considered as the Uber of the logistics world, Loadie can potentially offer suppliers a flexible logistics solution.
Finally, the recently launched BHETA Surgery will be on hand to provide advice and support to any member who has a specific question or query. This is a relatively new initiative run by the Housewares Committee for members only. Questions for the Surgery must be submitted in advance of the Forum.
Applications to attend the forum should be made to Sally Hawkins of the member services team on sh@bheta.co.uk or 0121 237 1130.
