As it approaches its 50th anniversary, Lakeland has been recognised by The International Housewares Association for its achievements and contribution to the housewares industry.
The kitchenware and household goods chain was named a GIA honoree in the Global Innovation Awards presented at the recent International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago. It is the first UK company to achieve this status since 2009.
Those awarded the title are chosen from the winners previously selected in their respective countries by the national GIA sponsors.
On receiving the award, Matthew Canwell, Lakeland's buying director said: "We're delighted to have been voted the best in the UK and an overall global winner. To be named as one of the most innovative retailers in the world is a huge achievement and a great honour.
