Laura Ashley confirms closure of Homebase concessions
Published: 21 October 2016
Homewares and fashion retailer Laura Ashley has confirmed it will be closing all of its Homebase concessions with the next year.
It follows the £340m takeover of Homebase by Austalian retail group Wesfarmers, which did not include the Laura Ashley outlets. Laura Ashley confirmed today that it will "cease to trade in its concessions", with the last few outlets expected to close by the second quarter of 2017.
In a stock exchange statement, the business said, "The company does not expect there to be a material impact on the group and anticipates that the majority of trade that it receives from these concessions will be redirected to other Laura Ashley stores and the website operated by the group."
