Le Creuset urgent product recall
Published: 21 January 2011
Cookware company issues product alert for glass lids sold used with non-stick frying pans and casserole dish, after risk of cracking is discovered.
The company stated: "It has come to our attention that a small number of glass lids sold for use with our Toughened Non-Stick frying pans could have fallen below our acceptable quality standards, which may result in cracking or other damage in use."
The products affected are as follows:
24cm glass lid Ref: 962008240
26cm glass lid Ref: 962008260
28cm glass lid Ref: 962008280
30cm glass lid Ref: 962008300
Le Creuset insisted that the lids' defect did not in any way affect the frying pans themselves or any other non-stick product in the range.
However, the Le Creuset non-stick 30cm shallow casserole with lid may also be affected (Ref: 962002301).
The firm is requesting that any customers who bought the product or received it as a gift since September 1, 2010, to stop using it and call its customer helpline for a refund or replacement items.
Le Creuset apologised for any inconvenience caused and added that it is "working hard to get the products back on the shelf as quickly as possible".
