Organisers take the decision to put off the September show until market conditions improve.
Clarion Events announced yesterday that it had reached the "difficult decision" to call off this year's show, which was due to take place in the National Hall at London Olympia in September. No future date has been set for the exhibition.
The firm explained: "Given the current market conditions, it is felt that, while there is an industry need for London Gift Fair, in the interest of best serving the market, the right decision is to postpone the show until market conditions improve."
The move will allow Top Drawer, which is also organised by Clarion and was set to run alongside the London Gift Fair at Olympia in September, to extend into the National Hall. Clarion said Top Drawer is "set for its biggest show to date".
