Travis Perkins, which is part of Travis Perkins plc and the UK’s largest distributor of materials to the construction sector, has opened the doors to its latest branch in Liverpool, with a little help from Sefton Council’s Mayor.
Councillor Clare Louise Carragher and players from Merseyrail FC were the guests of honour as Travis Perkins opened its new branch in Liverpool, Aintree.
The new branch has created 20 new jobs, with a quarter of those filled by women, in what is traditionally a male dominated sector.
The new branch is 2.5 acres in size, almost the size of two football pitches. The site will also include electric forklift trucks and electric charging points.
The new branch will include Travis Perkins’ trusted Hire Service, where customers can hire quality up-to-date tools, plant, and equipment plus get all their building supplies in one go, and get expert know-how to keep customers safe. Its yard will also boast an expansive range of products including bricks, blocks, timber, lintels, drainage and landscaping. There is also a Benchmarx Kitchen and Joinery showroom in Aintree, less than one mile from the new branch.
Branch manager William John Dempsey says: “We’re really excited to have opened the doors to our new site to the tradespeople and builders of Liverpool. We’re delighted to be offering hard landscaping for the first time as well as showcasing our new Benchmarx kitchen showroom and Hire Service. We have a great team in place and have everything you need, when and where you need it, all in one place. It’s all about doing what matters for the trade.”
Reg Standish, Chair of Merseyrail Ladies FC says: “We are very lucky to partner up with Travis Perkins and help in the opening and promotion of their new branch in Bootle, Liverpool. It's great to see a local company helping and backing our women’s football team here at Merseyrail Ladies FC.. I hope this is the start of a long partnership in helping the future development of women’s sports in our city.”
Its new Local Delivery Tracking Service also aims to give customers the best possible delivery notifications without having to make a telephone call too. Aligning with its strategy to deliver best-in-class service to trade customers, users will now receive text message notifications on the day of delivery with a named two-hour timeslot, live delivery tracking, plus 20-minute away delivery text.
Customers can also choose to shop online or on the App, for a rapid one hour Click & Collect in the branch. The industry-first App has been designed in conjunction with customers to help them save time and work smarter by enabling them to check and order stock on the go at their personal trade prices in real time from their local branch.
