Lords of Notting Hill acquires Andrews of Hampstead
Published: 9 October 2014
London hardware store Andrews of Hampstead, which has been serving its local neighbourhood for over 36 years, has been taken over by fast-expanding housewares and home essentials retailer, Lords of Notting Hill.
Andrews' owner George Andrews contacted and persuaded Lords Group ceo Shanker Patel to purchase the shop, convinced Lords would be the right company to expand and continue the business. A full refit and rebrand of Andrews is planned for February 2015.
"We're honoured to have been exclusively chosen as the next custodians of this well-established business," Mr Patel commented. "Our store will be a perfect addition to this famous high street and this acquisition fulfils a major part of our growth plan."
Mr Andrews added: "The customers of Hampstead need a store like Lords of Notting Hill. Over the years, the area has grown and changed and Lords of Notting Hill will be an ideal addition to NW3. They have the right product range, store environment and customer service offering for the modern consumer."
With the acquisition Lords of Notting Hill has grown in 18 months to five stores. In August it
acquired the La Cuisinere cookshop in Battersea, south London, and a sixth site is due to be announced soon. The company is also continuing to seek further acquisitions and sites.
