Alex Colledge becomes first winner of adhesive brand's Sporting Year competition.
A plumber from Sale in Manchester, Alex Colledge, won a VIP trip to Wimbledon tennis, including entry to Court One, two nights' accommodation at a four-star hotel in central London and transfers to the legendary tennis venue.
The prize was part of Dunlop's annual Sporting Year competition – a series of three prize giveaways from the adhesives brand throughout the year.
Mr Colledge uses Dunlop Adhesives products regularly in his job and entered almost immediately after hearing about the competition. Knowing his aunt Marjorie had always dreamed of going to Wimbledon, Mr Colledge gave her the VIP weekend prize.
Speaking of her Wimbledon experience, she said: "The weekend was really enjoyable. The day itself was perfect for watching the tennis, the atmosphere was great and we got seats in the second row... Dunlop should be congratulated on arranging such a good weekend."
The second prize this year was a VIP trip to the Formula F1 Belgium Grand Prix, which was won by property developer Jim Chalcraft from Tavistock, Devon.
The final competition, offers entrants the chance to win a VIP trip to the RBS 6 Nations England vs Ireland match at Twickenham to be held in 2010. The prize will include two nights at a four- star London hotel, including bed and breakfast and tickets to the match held on February 27, 2010.
