MFI gears up for its return

Furniture chain looks set to make a comeback, two years after it fell into administration.
The company announced on its website www.mfi.co.uk that the brand is being "specifically refreshed" and that its re-launch "promises to be one of the most eagerly awaited events in the UK retail calendar".
The rights to the MFI brand were recently bought by family-owned plumbing business Walker Group from MCR for a reported £250,000.
The Walker Group also operates online bathroom retail business Victoria Plumb, which was launched by brothers Shane and Jason Walker in 1999. The brand, which achieved a £4m turnover within its first three years, designs, manufactures and supplies a range of bathroom products direct to the public and trade.
Other brands include Walker Modular, manufacturer of modular bathroom and kitchen pods, Nobleoak - supplier and installer of bathroom and plumbing products to the UK leisure industry - and shower supplier Douglas James.
The Walker Group's plans for the MFI brand are as yet unknown, however the logo and branding appear not to have changed.
