The remaining loss-making stores that weren't saved in the management buyout of MFI last month will be wound down soon if no buyer is found.

The 81 stores at risk went into administration when they were not included in the MBO led by Gary Favell. Administrators Kroll have said they have started the wind down process and are selling some of the stores assets. However, there is a possibility the stores will still be sold.

Kroll administrator Fraser Gray said: "A wind-down process has commenced while we continue to seek purchasers for them."
