Mica members join Home Hardware Scotland

Published: 24 September 2009
Three former Mica members join the dealer-owned wholesaler, boosting its number of shops in Scotland and the north of England to 50.
The new members are Andrew Wilson of Woodwares in Portobello, Edinburgh, Brian Mills of Timbermills in Cumnock, Ayrshire and John Park of Scott's Stores in Barrhead, Renfrewshire.

Both Mr Mills and Mr Wilson have opted to take part in all Home Hardware promotions, including Royal Mail distribution of the seasonal brochures.

Mica went into administration at the beginning of July this year. Home Hardware Scotland has seen impressive growth, despite the economic climate, with turnover in August up 37.5% on the same period last year and up 12% year to date. Its housewares department has seen a massive increase - up 33£ on last year's figures.
