Mica members raise nearly £600 for RDT
Guests at the annual Mica DIY dinner in Bristol on March 4 donated a total of £572 to the Rainy Day Trust, following an appeal on behalf of the trust by DIY Week reporter Jenni Briscoe.

Taking Gift Aid tax relief into account, the total value of the donation should be well over £700.

RDT president Colin Petty said the sum raised was extremely welcome - and quite startling too. "We have a pretty good idea of the average donation per head at events like this," he said.

"Given that the Mica dinner was attended by about 75 people, my expectations would have been quite a bit lower than this. Clearly there's a considerable spirit of generosity among Mica members and suppliers!"
