Essential reading for retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market

Midlands hardware supplier moves to new premises

Published: 4 February 2016
Hiatt Hardware UK will move to a new 55,000sq ft unit in Aston, Birmingham, after acquiring the space from manufacturer Hydraforce for an undisclosed sum.
Family-run business, Hiatt Hardware, which specialises in handles and ironmongery for the UK retail and builders' merchant market, will be relocating from its existing unit to the new warehouse,Centrpoint51, in May.

The unit is located two miles from Junction 6 of the M6 and offers direct access to the A34 and A38.

Ankesh Agrawal of Hiatt Hardware said of the planned move: "Choosing the right site was very important to us and Centrepoint51 ticked all the boxes in terms of location and connectivity. The new premises will help step increasing the brand image of Hiatt Hardware and expand our capabilities by focusing on strategic long term growth, retaining our current core workforce and attracting new talent too."

Katie Aitchison of estate agent Savills added: "We are delighted to have secured such a high profile building for a rapidly-expanding business in the heart of Birmingham. The high level of competition for the building from other occupiers again highlights the shortage of good quality warehouse stock in and around the city."
