Staff at East Sussex-based Millbrook Garden Centre are celebrating after being awarded Retailer of the Year by Crowborough Chamber of Commerce.
The business received a trophy and certificate this week at the chamber's annual review at the Crowborough community centre. Millbrook md Tammy Woodhouse said: "We are delighted to have won the Retailer of the Year award. It is a real credit to the team in what has been a challenging year in garden retailing.

"Everyone has stayed positive and kept everything fresh and exciting. We are constantly striving to improve the shopping experience at Millbrook for our customers."

The ceremony marked the first annual Crowborough Chamber of Commerce award presentation to recognise businesses in the area.

Members of the chamber were invited to put forward nominees and the top five in each category were shortlisted. Categories includes Retailer of the Year, Non-retailer of the Year and Business Person of the Year.

Ms Woodhouse added: "It's great to get endorsement from the Crowborough business community of all the improvements we are making, including our new brasserie-style restaurant."
