Premium housewares brands Royal Doulton and Le Creuset are among the suppliers making their debut in Argos' 70th catalogue, launched tomorrow (July 26th) and marking Argos' 35th year of trading.
This edition has 1,800 pages containing 18,800 products and will be distributed to 17m homes - two thirds of UK households.
More than half of the products in the latest catalogue are new and there are an extra 700 items this year including products from new brands including Royal Doulton, Le Creuset, Jamie Oliver and Rachel Allen, who launches an exclusive range of kitchen appliances.
It's a far cry from the first catalogue in 1973, which had just 250 pages carrying 4,700 products.
Argos md Sara Weller said, "Argos has gone from strength to strength over the last 35 years and, through constant innovation, keeps on delivering choice, value and convenience for British shoppers. The catalogue has been recognised as a cultural icon and we're delighted to be celebrating our 35th anniversary this week by introducing our biggest and best book yet."
