G Plants, the supplier of seeds, bulbs, garden ornaments and giftware, has moved into a new 50,000sq ft facility, comprising office space, warehousing and showroom.
Located in Blackburn, the new premises mark the start of a period of expansion for the company. An ongoing £600,000 investment plan will see production levels increase, delivery times improve and the sales team expand to incorporate wider UK coverage.
Director Alex Reihl said: "The last 12 months has been a period of significant growth for our business. However this is only the start of our long-term vision for G Plants. Our new office facility is reflective of our development goals in that we are able to immediately increase capacity and offer improved customer service levels, whilst also providing us with the room to grow even further as we carry out the next steps in our plans."
In addition to the new facility, which will see production levels peak at 50,000 kilos of grass seed a day and deliveries expand to 10 trailers a day, G Plants has also benefited from a UKTI grant, which will enable it to create 10 new jobs.
"Growing our team is a key priority at present," Mr Reihl went on. "We are currently looking to recruit sales personnel to help increase our coverage across the UK, with a particular focus on the south-west, the Midlands, the north and Scotland."
Following a year of trials at Myerscough College G Plants has launched several new varieties for the 2015 season, and a special tasting day will shortly be held to help retailers appreciate the flavours G Plants offers.
