Steve Carson has been promoted to the new position of retail and customer operations director at Home Retail Group (HRG).
His new role will encompass HRG customer services and property services functions, but he will also retain responsibility for Argos retail operations.
Mr Carson joined HRG in 2006 and has held a number of senior retail jobs within Argos and Homebase. He assumed the Argos retail director role in 2011, and led the development of the retailer's digital concept stores.
In his new role he will take on responsibility for the customer contact centres to help deliver a seamless service for customers. He will also be looking after the store portfolios.
"The highest levels of customer service are critical at all customer touch points," Mr Carson commented. "Combining the seamless and integrated systems, tone of voice and service wherever a customer contacts us is going to become an important point of difference.
"Likewise, the distinction of our property portfolio against our competitors will enable us to be a point of destination."
