Home Retail Group has announced that CA Technologies' Jacqueline de Rojas has joined its board as a non-executive director, following news that Argos aims to position itself as a leading digital retailer and Homebase plans to focus on multi-channel.
Jacqueline de Rojas, who is VP and general manager, UK & Ireland at IT management and software solutions firm CA Technologies, will take on this non-executive role in addition to her existing executive position.
Ms de Rojas has close to 30 years experience in general management and sales roles in software technology businesses, including McAfee International, Novell, Cartesis, Business Objects and Informix.
The appointment follows news that, following a six-month review of Argos, bosses have decided to
reinvent the general merchandise chain, "as a digital retail leader and reposition it from a catalogue-led business to a digitally-led business".
Homebase md Paul Loft also revealed plans to step up Homebase's multi-channel presence at a recent press briefing.
Talking of Ms de Rojas' appointment to the board, Home Retail Group chairman John Coombe said: "With extensive experience in software technology, Jacqueline will be a strong addition to our Board as Argos implements its transformation plan to become a digital retail leader and Homebase extends its online experience for customers."
