New export opportunities for BHETA members
Published: 14 November 2013
BHETA has become one of 99 UKTI Trade Challenge Partners, which will increase the funding it is able to offer members for shows like Ambiente and Cologne.
This will also help the organisation to increase the number of other members that can benefit. It will bring new funding for members wishing to trade with emerging new markets such as Mexico.
UKTI (UK Trade & Investment) Partners are drawn from trade associations, accredited trade organisations and other membership groups focused on overseas trade, and represent nearly all sectors and industries of the UK economy. Their remit is to get more SMEs exporting, maximise the extensive industry knowledge of the Partners to support UK trade overseas and improve planning, practical support and communications.
BHETA's new status entitles members to get involved in UKTI initiatives, such as ExploreExport 2013, which can provide for one-to-one meetings with UKTI commercial officers. The UKTI also has a series of seminars taking place regionally during November.
BHETA's housewares sector director, William Jones, commented: "This is brilliant news for our many exporting members keen to broaden their overseas opportunities. I am thrilled that UKTI has recognised BHETA specifically and the needs of the DIY and housewares markets in general."
