Crown Paints has appointed Philip McDonald as its new finance director, who joins from glass and glazing firm NSG Pilkington.
Mr McDonald will replace Kathryn Hill, who after three successful years with Crown Paints has decided to step down in order to relocate to the South East.
He joins Crown Paints from NSG Pilkington, where he spent fifteen years, including four years as finance director for the Spanish business, three years as UK finance director and, more recently, finance director of the European architectural business. Whilst working for NSG Pilkington, Philip undertook a number of international roles, was involved in the integration of Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) and Pilkington and more latterly has led a global project to reduce working capital.
Crown managing director Joe Devitt said: "Philip's background and professional experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and develop
within the Hempel Group. I am confident that Philip will prove to be a great asset to the company as we move forward, building upon our strong position within the market."
Mr McDonald added: "As one of the country's most successful paint manufacturers and a great British household brand, it is a privilege to be part of Crown Paints. This is a great time to be joining the company, and I look forward to working with the team as we begin to build on the opportunities our new parent company offers us and embark on the next exciting stage for Crown Paints."
