Charles Farmer, Bord na Móna UK's (BNM UK) national accounts controller, has been appointed head of consumer UK following Steve Harper's decision to take up a new position with Gardman.
Mr Farmer will have responsibility for all of the BNM UK retail business, overseeing sales, marketing and business development with a remit to build the company's products, brands and associated infrastructure still further.
He will report directly to Bord na Móna Ireland group director marketing & communications, Gerry O'Hagan.
Now in his fifth year with the growing media specialist, Mr Farmer has previously worked with blue-chip UK consumer brands such as Scotts Miracle-Gro and Addis Housewares.
Commenting on his new role, he said: "I'm looking forward to taking responsibility for BNM UK's rapidly-increasing branded as well as own-brand business in the UK, working with a fantastic team to further accelerate growth.
"We're developing new products, new storage facilities and new distribution routes to service existing and prospective accounts and will use our brand potential, production and logistics capabilities to back these up. We will also be looking to expand into other sectors where we can combine ethical technology with top quality product."
