New head of operations for Ironmongery Direct

Ironmongery Direct has appointed Raj Ramoutar as its head of operations, based at the ironmongery supplier's Basildon headquarters.

Mr Ramoutar will be responsible for all aspects of service delivery from the 50,000 sq ft premises. With a strong background in operations, logistics and customer service with Emma Bridgewater, Fortnum & Mason, Cath Kidston and Littlewoods Shop Direct Group, Mr Ramoutar is bringing a wealth of experience to the role.

"Continuous improvement of operating efficiencies, order fulfilment and despatch of goods is something I'm passionate about," he said. "This is crucial to us maintaining one of the industry's fastest next day delivery services."

Ironmongery Direct's managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: "We have an ambitious set of objectives to deliver to reach our target of £50 million turnover; I'm confident Raj's excellent industry experience will help us to maintain our position as the UK's fastest growing specialist ironmongery supplier."
