Lofa has announced the launch of its own trade show to be held in 2008.
The Leisure and Outdoor Furniture Association held a press conference at the Goring Hotel, London, to unveil plans for Solex (Summer Outdoor Living Exhibition), which will take place July 6-8th, next year at the International Centre, Telford.
The organisation said Solex is a member-driven show and that it has developed the event to fit more effectively with buying cycles.
Chairman John Smye explained: "We've found that the big groups tend to do their ordering around June/July time so we've tried to accommodate this. Our members have been asking us to put on this show, it's not something we just dreamed up."
The announcement has no doubt affected Lofa's long-standing relationship with Glee, as Solex looks set to rival the well-established gardening and leisure event. However, Lofa secretary Richard Plowman was keen to stress that its affiliation with Glee and the show's organisers Emap TPS was still strong.
