New look for Home Hardware Scotland
Published: 30 August 2012
Home Hardware will unveil its new logo this autumn and rolling out the look to posters, shop fronts and staff uniforms.
The Home Hardware Autumn 2012 brochure, featuring the new corporate logo, will be sent out to nearly 400,000 customers on September 3.
In-store posters, uniforms and shop front signage will then be brought in line with the new look, although the firm explained it is likely to take time to phase in the new image across all member stores.
The most visible change to the logo is the red house roof above the lettering, replacing the red house 'O' in the previous image. Home Hardware Scotland said it felt that it was important to keep the roof and chimney, as it symbolises 'the heart of the home', which it also emphasise in its tagline, 'We'll Make Your House Home'.
The previous Home Hardware corporate logo was launched in 1996. Since then, the buying group has grown from a membership of 16 stores in Scotland, to 63 modern retail stores throughout Scotland and the north of England.
Home Hardware Scotland said "We felt that it was time for a new, modern corporate identity in order to bring the image of our company in line with where we are today. We didn't want a massive change of style, just enough to reflect the changes that have taken place over the last 16 years, while at the same time retaining elements of Home Hardware's long and successful heritage."
