Uwe Seeger joins Fischer Fixings as managing director this month as Dr Pietro Grandesso, who has been md for the past eight years steps down to pursue other career opportunities.
Mr Seeger joins from 12 years at Wurth, including responsibility for fixings production as md of Wurth China.

He joined Fischer Fixings earlier this year to coordinate sales activities in the Asia Pacific region and just a few months later steps up to the md position.

He said: "Fischer has a great team here in the UK and I look forward to meeting with customers and working closely with them to develop new sales opportunities even in these tough market conditions.

"Of course it's a difficult time in the DIY market at present, but I want to reassure all of our customers that at Fischer we do not view these conditions as a reason to row back on what has been achieved in the UK in recent years. On the contrary, this is an opportunity for us to develop our inherent strengths and take the brand to the next phase in its development."
