Next dismisses reports of planned garden centre formats
Despite recent reports that a Next store with an outdoor garden centre was planned for the south coast town of Shoreham, a spokesperson for the high street chain told DIY Week it was unclear where the story had come from and that the reports were "fanciful".

Speaking to DIY Week, the spokesperson said: "The Shoreham store is not planned to open until at least a year's time. It hasn't even been planned yet, so it's not decided what it's going to sell, how it's going to sell it or what the layout's going to be."

The retailer opened its first standalone Home store in Glasgow in 2003, and currently has 24 home format stores, with seven more planned before the end of the second half in January 2011.
