Next is seeking planning permission to open another of its Home and Garden outlets in Norfolk, with the hope of creating over 150 jobs.
Following the openings of Home and Garden stores in
Shoreham in West Sussex,
Camberley in Surrey and
Ipswich, the retailer now wants to open a store just outside Norwich on the Longwater Retail Park.
The company said that these new concept lifestyle stores still offer all the Next products for women, men, kids and home but in addition to this they will provide a brand new element in the form of DIY and gardening departments.
A Next spokesperson said: "We are very excited to announce plans for this new concept lifestyle store. Next is so pleased to be bringing over 150 jobs to the area and with agriculture and gardening being such a prominent industry and lifestyle within Norfolk, we hope it will be a great success."
Next in Shoreham, the first ever Home and Garden store, opened in August 2011 and since then has won a number of awards, including Store Design of the Year in 2011 and the National Association of Shopfitters Design Partnership award.
In September last year,
Next announced plans to open 11 more of its home-style stores following strong sales figures from the first half of last year. A spokesman said at the time that a 300,000sq ft outlet would be open by the end of this month. It has not been confirmed that this is the Norwich store.
