The deal, announced this morning, will see Notcutts take control of the centres for a total consideration of £14.5m.

Notcutts currently operates 13 centres in the south of the country. Therefore, the move represents a geographical expansion for the company as the six NWF centres are spread across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Cheshire.

No one was available for comment from either company, but check out next week's DIY Week for more information, and our annual Garden Retail Leaders supplement, published next month, for a full analysis of the company.
